Our Story
Dance has the power to educate, inspire, and bring people together. Cornerstone Dance Initiative was created from the belief that dancers and dance educators deserve opportunities to continue learning long after stepping out of the classroom.
It was also founded on the belief that our dance community needs more opportunities—not only for dancers and educators to continue developing their craft, but for artists to create, collaborate, perform, and share meaningful work with audiences. By fostering both education and artistic creation, CDI aims to strengthen the entire dance ecosystem.
Our mission is to provide meaningful educational experiences through workshops, master classes, teacher development, and artistic programming that support dancers, educators, and choreographers. Whether you're a student looking to deepen your training, a teacher seeking new ideas, an artist searching for creative collaboration, or an audience member discovering new work, CDI is designed to create meaningful connections through dance.
As the organization grows, Cornerstone Dance Initiative will continue expanding its offerings to include choreography projects, guest artists, collaborative performances, community partnerships, and educational events that connect dancers throughout the DMV region.
Our Philosophy
Strong Foundations. Lifelong Growth.
We believe exceptional dancing goes beyond just steps.
At Cornerstone Dance Initiative, we value:
• Technical excellence rooted in healthy, sustainable training.
• Artistic curiosity and creative exploration.
• Continued education for both dancers and dance educators.
• Collaboration over competition.
• Building a stronger, more connected dance community.
Our goal is to create experiences that leave dancers and teachers feeling inspired, challenged, and equipped with practical tools they can immediately bring back to their studios and artistic work.
Meet the Founder
Coralynn Celeste
Coralynn Celeste is a dance educator, choreographer, performer, and founder of Cornerstone Dance Initiative. With more than a decade of experience teaching, performing, and creating throughout the Northern Virginia region, she is passionate about building spaces where dancers, educators, and artists can continue to learn, collaborate, and grow.
As a faculty member at The Center for Ballet Arts in Fairfax, Virginia, Coralynn teaches ballet, jazz, modern, conditioning, and choreography to students of all ages. Her work is grounded in the belief that excellent dance education develops not only strong technique, but also artistry, confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Throughout her career, Coralynn has performed, choreographed, and taught across a variety of settings—from pre-professional training programs and performance companies to community studios and educational workshops. These experiences have shaped her vision for creating opportunities that extend beyond the traditional studio environment.
Cornerstone Dance Initiative was founded to help meet that need. Coralynn believes dancers deserve continued access to exceptional education, meaningful artistic collaboration, and opportunities to create work that connects with audiences. Through CDI, she is committed to strengthening the dance community by supporting both the artists who create the work and the educators who inspire the next generation.
Whether leading a workshop, mentoring teachers, choreographing new work, or building partnerships throughout the DMV, Coralynn's goal remains the same: to help cultivate a vibrant, collaborative dance community where artists can continue to learn, create, and thrive.
Looking Ahead
Building Community Through Dance
